Dara Khalatbari, MD
Education: Dr. Khalatbari graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee, with a degree in Molecular biology and Mathematics. He then attended Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina, for his medical training. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Dr. Khalatbari then received his ophthalmology training at Wills Eye Hospital, in Philadelphia.
Professional: Dr. Khalatbari operates at Presbyterian Surgery Center Monroe, Union West Surgery Center in Indian Trail, and CMC-Union in Monroe. He has presented at numerous national meetings in ophthalmology and is the author of numerous publications. He is a contributing author to the Wills Eye Manual, the most widely used ophthalmology text in the world.
Dr. Khalatbari is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Specialties: Dr. Khalatbari specializes in no-stitch, no-needle cataract surgery and LASIK eye surgery. He is an expert in the use of Multifocal, Toric and Accommodating intraocular lenses to reduce or eliminate glasses after cataract surgery. Dr. Khalatbari also provides comprehensive eye care including: retinal laser surgery, glaucoma, and diabetic eye care.
