Professional

Dr. Brown is a fellowship-trained Cornea specialist, board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has contributed extensively to the field, publishing multiple book chapters and co-authoring several peer-reviewed publications. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Cornea Society.

Special Interests

Dr. Brown specializes in the medical and surgical management of cornea disease and refractive error. He has expertise in full and partial corneal transplantation. He also is one of the few surgeons in the country providing corneal ring segments for the improvement of vision in Keratoconus. Dr. Brown has expertise in laser assisted cataract surgery and uses the most up to date lens implants to reach his patients’ visual goals.

Education

Dr. Brown graduated with honors from the University of Scranton Honors Program with a major in Biology and minors in Philosophy and Biochemistry. He went on to receive his Medical Doctorate from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD where he spent an additional fellowship year working with Drs Wuqaas Munir and Jon Solomon gaining expertise in cornea and refractive procedures.

Personal

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Brown and his wife are excited to make North Carolina their new home. They both love the beach, golf, and snowboarding. Dr. Brown was actually a snowboard instructor during college.
