Education: Dr. Kimberly Cao graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. She then pursued her passion for eye care at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry.
Professional: Before attending optometry school, Dr. Cao worked as an optometric technician in a private practice, where her experiences inspired her to pursue a career in optometry. Her professional training included valuable internships at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, and a private practice in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a member of several organizations, including the American Academy of Optometry and the North Carolina Optometric Society.
Special Interest: Dr. Cao specializes in providing comprehensive primary eye care for adults and children ages 14 and up. She has a particular interest in fitting contact lenses and managing ocular diseases, with a focus on conditions such as cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye syndrome, and glaucoma.
Personal: Dr. Cao fell in love with the diverse landscapes of North Carolina, appreciating the proximity to both mountains and beaches, which led her to make Charlotte her home. In her free time, she enjoys watching and cheering on the local and national soccer teams, attending concerts, traveling, and spending quality time with her friends, family, and her beloved cat, Archie.
