Eyelid Surgery
The eyes are the most important feature of facial expression. They help communicate mood, attention, and interest to those around us. Sagging of the tissues around the eyes and changes in volume to the eye socket can make a person appear older or more tired than they feel. Dr. Annunziata can perform blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift surgery, to improve the appearance of drooping upper eyelids, puffy lower eyelids or both for more vibrant, younger-looking eyes. Dr. Annunziata uses her considerable experience with this procedure to provide individualized, natural, safe, and long-lasting results in a low-stress, relaxed environment.
Brow Lift
Sagging or drooping brows can make us appear angry, sad or tired. With brow lifting, forehead creases are smoothed and the brow line is moved to a higher position for a more youthful appearance. Brow lift is often an important component of blepharoplasty surgery, and Dr. Annunziata frequently combines the two in order to produce a more complete, natural rejuvenation of the eyes and surrounding tissue.
Mid-Face/Cheek Lift
This procedure addresses sagging tissue and fat displacement in the cheek. Loss of volume in the midface area (between the bottom of the eyes and corner of the lips) can lead to wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, with loss of definition in the cheek bones and hollowing around the eyes. Dr. Annunziata can rejuvenate the cheeks by restoring volume with injectables or other lifting procedures to add fullness to the area for a more youthful appearance.
Mini Facelift
Patients may know this procedure by other branding names (such as quicklift, lifestyle lift, and the like), but they all represent a variation of traditional facelift involving smaller incisions to remove excess, sagging skin and tighten the remaining skin. Face-lifting can improve a sagging jaw line, sharpen the neck line and refresh the overall facial appearance. Dr. Annunziata’s minimally invasive facelift technique provides a natural, more refreshed look with less downtime and fewer risks while reducing the telltale signs of a surgical or over-pulled look.
Non-surgical Facial Rejuvenation Solutions
- Botox – Often injected to the area above and between the eyebrows, Botox inhibits muscle activity and therefore relaxes the muscles responsible for frown lines. These frown lines, which can include crow’s feet and other wrinkles, are caused by repeated facial expressions. Although each person responds differently, results can last between three and six months.
- Chemical Peels – TCA (trichloracetic acid) or milder Alpha-hydroxy Acid peels can be used to restore sun-damaged, wrinkled, blemished, acne scarred or blotchy skin to a smoother, more even toned appearance by exfoliating and smoothing aging or damaged skin.
- Fillers – As the aging process occurs, wrinkles form as natural collagen and hyaluronic acid diminish. Collagen provides structural support to skin, muscle, tendons, and bone and is the most abundant natural protein in the body, while hyaluronic acid provides skin volume. Metrolina Eye Associates offers Juvederm as our selection of the safest and most effective fillers available.
- Juvederm – A natural and safe dermal filler, Juvederm restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds such as ones from the nose to the corners of the mouth. It is a cosmetic filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already found in the human body. Juvederm maintains its shape using the body’s own moisture. Studies have shown that results typically last for about six months to one year depending on the location of treatment.
- IPL Skin Treatments – IPL Skin Rejuvenation is a non-invasive, comfortable technique that revitalizes your skin using a broad spectrum of light called Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). This patented, FDA-approved, non-laser treatment provides dramatic results for an array of skin conditions anywhere on the body. Skin tone is enhanced, small defects are eliminated and pores become smaller. The end result of IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatments is smoother, healthier and younger-looking skin. These medical grade treatments will reveal a naturally younger appearance with a clearer, more even complexion without facial alterations. For optimal results, a series of treatments will increase cell regeneration that stimulates new collagen and elastin to diminish fine lines.
Lip Augmentation
Cosmetic injectables such as Restylane and Juvederm are used to plump lips that are naturally thin or that have lost volume over time. The result is fuller, more youthful looking lips.
